The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is home to 13 culturally-based Greek organizations. MGC serves Asian, Latinx, and multicultural interest groups, but you do not have to hold these identities to join an MGC organization. MGC is built on community - joining this council means you are not just a member of your specific chapter, but the MGC community as a whole. The MGC community is like a family who will be there to uplift and inspire you during your collegiate journey.
MGC membership recruitment occurs the first two weeks of the semester.
To be considered a prospective new member of an MGC organization, students must attend at least one informational session for the group they are interested in. After turning in an application for membership with a specific chapter, you will be selected for an interview. If selected, you must fill out an University of Oklahoma Official Intake Acceptance Form with the Fraternity & Sorority Programs and Services office.
The MGC Showcase and any recruitment events hosted by each individual organization are optional but always encouraged! Come join our community and make MGC your next home!

Informationals are a time for MGC organizations to share information with prospective students. These sessions provide greater in-depth knowledge about the organization and membership requirements. Prospective students looking to join MGC are required to attend an informational.
Each organization will host their own recruitment events. We suggest checking out chapter social media accounts for specific recruitment event schedules. These events are not required but highly encouraged to attend and are a great way to learn more about our MGC organizations.

All of our organizations under MGC are culturally based in history, but not in the way they recruit. You do not have to identify in a specific cultural group to pursue membership in any of our chapters.
Each chapter sets its own fees and payment schedules. Each potential new member should ask chapter members about financial obligations. Chapter dues also differ from year to year. Expect dues to decrease in cost after the first year of membership.
The average cost of joining a MGC chapter ranges from $125 - $260 a semester with an average of $192 per semester.
Typically, yes! Although individual organizations set thier own membership requirements, most MGC organizations allow students to join during their first year. Attending an organization's informational event will help you understand exact membership requirements and what to expect during the membership intake process.
