Adjusted Space Capacities

adjusted capacities

In response to COVID-19, capacities for campus spaces have been reduced to allow for physical distancing.

Below are the maximum capacities of a space that are based purely on a gross square footage calculation. These capacities may be adjusted based on furniture and orientation of the space.

Any furniture added to accommodate a certain type of event would change this number and require someone from the Fire Marshal's Office to go to the space and measure the layout in order to provide a new Covid-19 occupancy number.

All campus safety measures as described on the OU Together website must be followed in the below venues.

The Covid-19 MAXIMUM Occupancy was calculated for spaces in their current orientation, in many cases as if there were no furniture in the spaces; which would make it a purely gross square footage calculation. Any furniture added to accommodate a certain type of event would change this number and require someone from the Fire Marshal's Office to go to the space and measure the layout in order to provide a new Covid-19 occupancy number. The Covid-19 MAXIMUM Occupancy number is intended to provide a "do not exceed" baseline number and reduce from there as furniture layouts are added and orientations are changed.
