STUDY ABROAD
The Transcript Evaluation Office is involved in the credit evaluation process for current OU students who choose to study abroad. The study abroad application process and advising is handled through the OU Education Abroad Office, however any questions with regards to credit conversion, grade conversion and course equivalencies, should be directed at the Transcript Evaluation Office. For more information about how to begin the study abroad process, please contact the OU Education Abroad office.
Institutions from abroad must be recognized by the ministry of education or official accrediting body in that country for OU to accept credit.
International transfer work is reviewed and evaluated much like domestic transfer work. Students are required to submit official transcripts in the original language, accompanied by a certified translation if requested.
An international credential evaluation specialist will review the course content for equivalencies. If direct equivalencies cannot be determined by the Transcript Evaluation Office, students must submit a syllabus for departmental review.
International grades are converted to S/U (Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory) when posted to the OU permanent record. Grades are converted based on recommendations by ACCRAO Edge.
