Our 48-hour Full-time MBA program is designed in a modular format, with each semester being broken into two 8-week modules. This structure allows you to begin specialized elective coursework prior to your summer internship. It also creates an accelerated program, so that you can complete your MBA in 16 months, instead of the traditional 2-year format.
Core classes cover fundamental business knowledge and essential managerial competencies with an emphasis on the global business perspective. Topics include accounting, marketing, financial analysis, business strategy, human resources, operations management, and data analytics.
After the first year of core courses, electives are incorporated into the curriculum to fit your interests. 18 hours of electives are required for the MBA program. Electives are offered in several areas, including:
You have the option to advance your specific career goals by focusing your elective courses towards a certificate.
The Arts Management and Entrepreneurship certificate is offered in collaboration with the Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts, providing a comprehensive, flexible structure of courses designed to develop the skills needed for careers in leadership positions at large and small arts organizations and multidisciplinary entrepreneurial startups. The practicum courses provide deeply immersive, hands-on experience in a variety of distinguished internships (regional and international) and an Arts Incubation Lab (a boot camp-style lab providing skills in consulting in a fast-paced program bringing creative concepts to market).
Well-designed digital technology can add tremendous value and boost performance, especially when aligned with business strategies and organizational needs. By pursuing a certificate in Digital Technologies, which is offered through our division of MIS, you position yourself as the expert who can bridge the two disciplines, information technologies and business management.
New ventures require a scaffold of talent and expertise on which to grow, whether they begin within an existing organization or independently. Learn to assess the feasibility of a new venture, chart a commercialization path for an innovation, analyze other people’s plans, and plan for successful capitalization and launch. Take this specialization into your own venture or put it into practice with a service or capital provider.
Rigorous analysis, hands-on practice, and intense discussions in this certificate give you the understanding and experience to manage portfolios, advise clients, analyze investments, or contribute to a corporate finance practice in industry or banking. Learn how to value financial securities, price and manage assets, manage risk, model finances, and present analysis.
The MBA Healthcare Administration certificate is a collaboration between the Price College of Business and OU’s College of Public Health. Courses will be taught by Masters of Healthcare (MHA) faculty and include topics like theories and principles of healthcare administration, present and historical practices, healthcare operations, financing and governance of healthcare, effects of technology on healthcare, healthcare legislation, and challenges facing healthcare today.
The Media Management certificate is offered in collaboration with the Gaylord College Journalism & Mass Communication and is designed to equip you with industry specific insight into media entrepreneurship and management of media-focused organizations. The curriculum will give you the basics of media management and challenge you to find new ventures, outlets, communication strategies, and more to be at the forefront of the digital age of media.
The Full-time MBA program is designed to offer many opportunities for experiential learning that enable and encourage students and executives to work side-by-side in solving real-world problems.
This course provides experiential learning in your area of specialization, enabling you to apply your academic knowledge in a tangible context. You will be matched with an internship in the Oklahoma City area related to your field of interest.
This course applies the "Design Thinking" approach, which relies on rapid action followed by interaction and then reflection, to business consulting projects. It offers an immersive experience to students by using a hands-on, iterative approach to collaboratively solving real world business problems, and may include developing innovative products, processes and services.
All students participate in a two-week international experience that builds the essential skills needed to thrive in today’s global economy.
Through the Global Business Experience, students engage in cross-cultural learning, visit international companies, and explore how businesses operate across different markets and regulatory environments.
The Global Business Experience course is included in your program tuition and fees. However, students are responsible for additional travel-related expenses, including:
These expenses will vary by location but are not expected to exceed $6,000. No additional tuition or course fees are required beyond your standard program costs.
Summer internships are an integral part of the MBA experience. The internship search is essentially a trial run for your full-time employment search in your second year. During first year of your MBA, expect to dedicate time researching industries and companies, building your professional networks, polishing your résumé, and honing your interview skills.
This coursework helps you develop the critical skills needed to identify, prepare for, and pursue a professional career after your MBA, focusing on real-world, practical aspects of the business arena. Topics include resume writing, job search and interviews, negotiation skills, business etiquette, career decisions, and project and career management.
