Graduate Certificate in Energy
Hydrocarbon or Renewable
EMBA alumni have the chance to further enhance their expertise and credentials with the new stand-alone graduate certificate program. This program is available only for graduates of the OU EMBA in Energy.
Return to OU to complete one of two elective tracks (6 credit hours*) and receive a second graduate certificate in either Hydrocarbon Energy or Renewable Energy at a discounted price. Alumni who were not previously offered a graduate certificate during their program may choose either one.
Key Details:
- Discounted Price: $1,325 per credit hour (will cover tuition, fees, course materials and the cost of lodging and food for the residency week
- Course Duration: June to October/November
- Course Format: All courses are part of the regular EMBA in Energy degree program and will be taken with current students, both online and in-person.
- On-Campus Module: Fall final module on campus in Norman, about one week, with current students.
- Eligibility: Graduates who return five or more years after previous enrollment may be required to retake some core courses that may have expired.

- Valuation of Hydrocarbon Resources
- Financing Hydrocarbon Projects
- Renewable Energy Project Development: Forecasting
- Renewable Energy Law & Regulation

- Renewable Energy Project Valuation
- Renewable Energy Project: Develop, Implement, Manage
Certain core courses are also required for each certificate to reach the 12 credit hour requirement*, however previous completion of these courses within the last 5 years can count as credit.

- Financial Markets and Securities
- Corporate Energy Finance
- Electric, Gas & Utility Fundamentals
- Cyber-Physical Security and Resilience for Energy
