Derek Wissmiller

Derek Wissmiller is the director of strategic analytics at GTI Energy, a not-for-profit energy research and technology organization. In this role, he leads strategic management activities aimed at aligning GTI Energy’s business portfolio toward durable value creation and lasting impact. Wissmiller has a diverse breadth of experience in building organizational capability, cultivating partnerships, leading teams, managing programs, and advancing energy technology solutions to market. Prior to joining GTI Energy, he was an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Wissmiller holds a B.S. in physics from Illinois State University, an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University.
