Jay Jimerson

Jay Jimerson obtained a BBA in petroleum land management from the University of Oklahoma in 1981, and received a law degree from the OU School of Law in 1984. While attending OU, Jimerson was a defensive back on the football team. In 1981, he was a recipient of the Big 8 Conference Medal, and was named to the 1981 CoSIDA Academic All-American Team.
After graduating from OU, Jimerson joined the Oklahoma City law firm of Mock, Schwabe, Waldo, Elder, Reeves & Bryant, where he practiced as an energy lawyer until 1996. After spending several years as an energy lawyer, Jimerson became general counsel and a managing partner of eCORP LLC, a Houston-based energy firm. While at eCORP, Jimerson was involved in the development and marketing of underground natural gas storage assets and other energy related assets.
In 2006, Jimerson joined Cardinal River Energy Co., an independent oil and natural gas company, as its executive vice president. He was later named president of the company and was responsible for supervising all of the company’s strategic initiatives. In 2019, he moved into the roles of manager and general counsel. Jimerson has substantial experience in oil and gas operations, including oil and gas marketing, midstream operations, risk management, insurance, land, legal and environmental matters.
Jimerson has been the past president of the Mineral Law Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association, and is a member of the Oklahoma City Mineral Lawyers Society.
