Alicia Briney is a lecturer of marketing, joining the Division of Marketing and Supply Chain Management in January 2023. Before coming to the University of Oklahoma, Briney was a professor of business and economics and holder of the Leif Johnson Chair in Business at Texas Lutheran University. She also has served as a faculty member at Our Lady of the Lake University and Stephen F. Austin State University.
Briney earned a Ph.D. in marketing from the University of North Texas and an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Louisiana State University in Shreveport.
She has worked for years as a marketing research consultant. Her research interests include studying the effectiveness of different communication methods in increasing awareness and support for social causes, shopping addiction and the use of service-learning pedagogy to increase emotional intelligence in college students.
In addition, she is an entrepreneur who has started many businesses, including an art gallery, a custom home construction firm, an online music lesson company (during COVID) and a film and music production company.
The University of Oklahoma Michael F. Price College of Business has experienced significant growth over the past five years, becoming OU’s second-largest college with over 7,000 students.
