Ph.D. (Penn State) Professor Ghosh's primary research interests are in managerial accounting, specifically, accounting information for judgment and decision making, management control systems, performance measures, negotiation, and transfer pricing.  His teaching interests are in the areas of managerial accounting, management control systems, and strategic cost analysis. Professor Ghosh has published a number of manuscripts in Accounting, Organizations and Society, Decision Sciences, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Behavioral Research in Accounting, Journal of Management Accounting Research, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Journal of Business Ethics, and Management Accounting. He co-authored a research monograph, "Applying Activity-based Costing in Healthcare," published by the Foundation of Applied Research, Institute of Management Accountants. Professor Ghosh was the President of the Management Section of the American Accounting Association and has presented several papers at national and international conferences in the area of managerial accounting and decision making and is a reviewer for a number of journals. He serves on the editorial board of prominent academic journals, has been recipient of “Best Paper” awards at conferences, and a keynote speaker at several international conferences. His professional experience includes serving as an auditor with Deloitte and as a management accountant for a multinational manufacturing firm. Professor Ghosh has won several teaching awards including the Merrick Foundation Teaching Award as well as the Regents’ Award for Superior Teaching, both awarded by the University of Oklahoma. He was among the very first group of faculty members recognized as a Presidential Professor, given by the University of Oklahoma to “honor, reward, and retain top faculty members who excel in all their professional activities” and “exemplify the ideals of a scholar through their endeavors in teaching; research and creative/scholarly activity; and professional and University service and public outreach”. Professor Ghosh is the Chair of the Doctoral Proposals Committee for The Institute of Management Accountant’s Research Foundation. He is also the committee Chair of the Glen McLaughlin Prize for Research in Accounting Ethics awarded by the Steed School of Accounting. As the Executive Director of the MBA Program, he conceived and started the specialization in energy. As the Founding Executive Director of the Energy Institute, he was instrumental in the design and delivery of the Energy Executive Management Program, a 5-day program providing an overview of the business side of an energy enterprise. He is also the principal architect of the 15-month Executive MBA in Energy hybrid program, which commenced in January 2014.
