Xiaoyan "Sharon" Hu

Xiaoyan (Sharon) Hu

Xiaoyan "Sharon" Hu  joined the Ph.D. program at the John T. Steed School of Accounting in 2017 and specializes in financial archival research.  She earned a master’s degree in accounting at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, a master’s in financial engineering at the University of Science & Technology of China, and a bachelor’s degree in economics at Northeastern University, China. Her primary research interest lies at the intersection of corporate finance and financial accounting, with a focus on the link between financial reporting and firms’ innovation behavior and the link between banks’ behavior and their financial reporting (eg, lending relationships, information sharing, competition, and fair value accounting). She has passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exams. She has also passed all the required subjects of the professional stage of the national uniform CPA examination of China.
