Yue "Mark" Ma majored in Applied Physics in the University of Science and Technology Beijing (Beijing, China) prior to coming to the United States. He transferred to California State University San Bernardino in 2012 and earned a bachelor’s and master's degree in Accounting in 2017. In his bachelor years, he interned at Mega International Auction for inventory management. He worked as a research assistant and tutored for CPA exams when he was in the master’s program. His experience as an assistant inspired his decision to pursue a career in academics. Ma joined the Accounting Ph.D. program in the Steed School of Accounting in Fall 2018. His research interest includes accounting regulation and its influence in disclosure and economics, market efficiency, and Fintech developments.
