Using the Military Benefits You've Earned

The OU College of Professional and Continuing Studies participates in the Department of Defense Tuition Assistance (TA) programs. We serve as a liaison to the DoD in processing TA and other military educational benefits. TA can cover a significant portion of the college's bachelor’s and master’s tuition for eligible active duty, reserve, and National Guard personnel. TA can go a long way toward making your education more affordable.

Air Force Tuition Assistance  Active duty service members may request Tuition Assistance through the AI Portal or by contacting their Base Education Office to request Tuition Assistance forms.

Army Tuition Assistance  Active duty service members may request Tuition Assistance through GoArmyEd.com or by contacting their Army Education Counselor.

Coast Guard Tuition Assistance Active duty service members may be eligible for Tuition Assistance and should contact their Education Services Officer to learn more.

Marine Tuition Assistance  Active duty service members may be eligible for Tuition Assistance and should contact their Education Services Officer to learn more.

Navy Tuition Assistance Active duty service members may request Tuition Assistance from the Navy College Program or by contacting their Navy Education Counselor.

TA Top Up through The G.I. Bill® - Some students may be eligible to utilize the G.I. Bill in conjunction with tuition assistance.

Enrollment and Tuition Assistance

After the Common Application has been completed and activated in the GoArmyEd Portal, and the student has been admitted to the degree program, they may begin to enroll. Students must enroll through the OU online enrollment system (ONE) before enrolling in courses through GoArmyEd.

  1. Create an OU password and email account.
  2. Enroll in OU College of Professional and Continuing Studies classes through ONE*.
  3. Finalize class enrollment for tuition payment through the GoArmyEd system.

Note: If you are having trouble finding and enrolling in a course, please contact your Army Education Counselor (AEC) or Education Services Officer (ESO).

Military Tuition Assistance Forms

  • OU College of Professional and Continuing Studies Online Students must submit their TA forms to va-militarybilling@ou.edu
  • OU College of Professional and Continuing Studies Online North America must submit their TA forms to va-militarybilling@ou.edu
  • OU College of Professional and Continuing Studies Online Europe must submit their TA forms to va-militarybilling@ou.edu

All military students using the Tuition Assistance program must apply for tuition assistance through their specific branch of the service before the first day of the class. If you have not applied for MTA prior to the first day of class, you may be denied Tuition Assistance by your branch of service. If you do not have your Tuition Assistance form submitted to the College of Professional and Continuing Studies by the last day of add/drop for each term, you may be held liable for all tuition and fees. Please note:

  • Each branch of service has different systems for applying for TA. Please check with your Education Office prior to the start of the term to ensure you have complied with their requirements.
  • You must be enrolled in a College of Professional and Continuing Studies course through OU online enrollment system (ONE) before you apply for TA.

Service Member FAQ

For an unofficial evaluation of previous college course work, military training, and experience, contact the OU College of Professional and Continuing Studies Admissions Counselors.

Report to your duty station; contact your Installation Education Center and speak with an Education Counselor (ESO); and visit our Academics page.

After you have been fully admitted to the University of Oklahoma an academic advisor will complete a degree plan using all of the transcripts you have submitted for evaluation of transfer credit.

You must be fully admitted to the University of Oklahoma before you can begin taking classes.


After the add/drop period, one week after the beginning of the term for eight-week terms and two weeks after the beginning of the term for sixteen-week classes.

Each individual is evaluated on a case-by-case basis using all military transcripts that are provided. There is no standard block of credit for a branch of service or a specific military position.

Prior to the start of the term but no later than the last day of add drop. Depending on your branch of the service you may not get tuition assistance if you have not requested it through your branch of service prior to the first day of class.
