October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month!

All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to join the incentive challenges beyond the annual required training. OU IT Cybersecurity will be tracking points from several categories listed below.

Required annual training is due by October 31st.

All faculty, staff, and students are required to take annual cybersecurity training, and it is included to this year's Digital Scavenger Hunt. Below are ways to earn points! 

 

Join the Digital Scavenger Hunt!

  1. Complete Required Annual Training by October 31st.

    • Earn points and support academic security, research contracts, grants & funding, and university policy by completing your required annual training through KnowBe4, link.ou.edu/cyber-training.

  2. Visit the new Cybersecurity Central SharePoint site.

    link.ou.edu/cybersecuritycentral or search the SharePoint site collection for sooners.sharepoint.com/sites/Cybersecurity
    • Stay current on policies open for comment
    • Book one-on-one time with OU IT CISO
    • Share feedback to improve cybersecurity

  3. Use the Phish Alert Button.

    • Earn points and catch cybercriminals by reporting suspicious emails.
    • Both simulated phish training and legitimate malicious emails count!

  4. Complete the optional training (AI topics included) in your KnowBe4 Library.

    • Earn points and lower your Risk Score by completing optional training.

  5. Complete the 2024 Cybersecurity Awareness Month survey in Qualtrics.

    • Earn points by sharing your preferred topics and training feedback.

 

Fine Print

  • The top achievers will be selected randomly by the most points earned and the number of incentives available.
  • Any incentives that include company, service, or technology logos are being offered only as an incentive to participate and do NOT imply endorsement.
  • Select items may require a tax form.
  • OU IT Cybersecurity employees are not eligible.
