In May and June 2025, the Academic Tech Expo Committee held an in-person networking event for all OU faculty, staff, instructors, graduate students, researchers, and clinicians across all three OU campuses.
The ATE Roadshow events are an extension of the yearly expo held each January. These events took place on each OU campus and were an opportunity to meet individuals who work daily with the tools and services we use at OU for teaching, learning, and support.
The Roadshow featured quick 3-minute presentations on AI tools, process changes, and more.
In Norman, the featured speakers were Keeagan Long-Wheeler, Lead Technologist with OU Education Services, shared how to Facilitate Collaborative Reviews in Canvas, OU Grad student, Toufik Amri shared his research on "Culturally Responsive E-Learning Ecologies: Exploring the Possibilities of AI", April Dickson, OU IT's Governance, Risk, and Compliance Director discussed Microsoft CoPilot capabilities, and Dr. Genevea Murray, Senior Associate Director for Teaching at the OU Center for Faculty Excellence, instructed on the ways to use Gradescope.
In Oklahoma City, featured speakers were Christina McClane, Academic Affairs Coordinator at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences (OUHSC), who discussed Simple Syllabus, April Dickson, shared about Microsoft Co-Pilot capabilities, and JEB Sheriff, OU IT Service's Assistant Director, answered questions about the OUHSC email change to the ou.edu domain.
In Tulsa, featured speakers were Dr. Julie Gordon, Assistant Professor at OUHSC College of Nursing, discussed the "Student Use of Ai: Expectations & Accountability", Christina McLane talked about Simple Syllabus, Dr. John Hassell, Associate Professor of Software Development and Integration at the Polytechnic Institute, covered AI, Tomika Cox, OU IT Intermediate Instructional Technologist, discussed Linked in Learning, and JEB Sherrif answered questions about the OUHSC email change to the ou.edu email domain.
Additionally, the event showcased partnership tables with representatives from OU Information Technology, Libraries, the Center for Faculty Excellence, and more. Attendees learned about Simple Syllabus for Health Sciences programs, accessibility, IT initiatives, tech lending, and much more with our campus partner tables.
