Can I still contribute to RCHP if I don't live in Oklahoma?

100% yes!!! Although the project is Oklahoma-based, it is intended to be a community space for everyone to share their objects and stories - or those of their relatives. The exhibit itself will be organized by state so you can see what has been contributed across the nation.

I want to contribute, but I am having a hard time thinking of a good object. What should I pick?

It's hard for us to say; but it is something that should represent you! If it helps, imagine that you can only leave one object for an archaeologist to find 500 years from now. That object should tell a story about your gender-sexuality-relationship identity. What object comes to mind?

Do I have to submit to Meghan's research to view the exhibit?

No! You do not have to contribute anything to Meghan's dissertation research in order to enjoy the exhibit. This is first and foremost an educational community space; it's ours to share with no contribution needed!

Do I have to submit to the RCHP website to see the exhibit or contribute to Meghan's research?

No! If you decide to contribute to the project, the first page of the survey is a consent form. You may chose to contribute only to Meghan's research; only to the online community exhibit; or neither! First and foremost, this is an educational community space; it's ours to share with no contribution necessary.

Do I have to give you my actual object to contribute to the project?

No you do not! In fact, please do not mail us in your actual object! If you feel comfortable, you may share a photograph of your object with the project. But for the moment, the project will be completely virtual.

Do I have to be a member of the LGBTQIA+ community to contribute?

No! You do not have to identify as LGBTQIA+ to contribute to RCHP! Other queer idenities (including those on the ace spectrum to those in the kink community to polyamorous or other ethically non-monogamous peoples) are more than welcome.

Allies are also very welcome! You too have gender, sexuality, and relationship preferences - and we would love to see your support for the project by sharing your object too!

TL;DR: the more the merrier and, as long as you are respectful, everyone is welcome!

I'm very excited about this project and want to get more involved! What can I do?

Thank you for being excited about the project! There are plenty of ways to get involved: from simply sharing the project with your community to contacting Meghan do participate in an ethnographic, object interview for her dissertation research.
