Gina McMillen
Director, Office of Technology Commercialization
Dr. Gina McMillen oversees the management of OU’s Life Sciences Intellectual Property Portfolio. In this role she works with inventors and other members of OTC to develop an IP protection plan and commercialization strategy to move University innovations from the laboratory to the market. In addition to identifying technologies with commercial potential, she leads marketing efforts, licensing negotiations, and monitors compliance of licensees with contractual obligations.
Prior to joining OTC in 2008, Gina worked in the Veterinary biotechnology industry as a product development scientist for companion animal vaccines and as a clinical trials coordinator for veterinary biologics and diagnostics. She also has experience in the start-up space having worked with two early-stage Oklahoma companies where she served as PI and secured SBIR/STTR grant funding.
Dr. McMillen is a proud graduate of Kansas State University, having earned her DVM in 1989 and her PhD in Microbiology in 1995.
