OADII was launched in support of the  Aerospace, Defense, and Global Security initiative through the Office of the Vice President for Research and Partnerships at the University of Oklahoma. ADGS is one of four strategic research verticals identified in the university’s strategic plan that applies convergent OU research to significant, real-world challenges.

Through strategic investments over the last two decades, OU has created the nationally recognized Advanced Radar Research Center, which is the largest university-based radar center in the nation. Next-generation radio frequency sensing and communication systems address a range of national security issues.   

OU’s Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC) is the nation’s largest academic research center focused on advancements in radar.  Specific areas of strength include:
