The National Weather Festival is the largest event hosted by the National Weather Center, attracting over 4,000 guests annually. The NWF features many weather-related organizations, such as the National Weather Service, Oklahoma Mesonet, Storm Prediction Center, and broadcast meteorologists from local news channels.
The National Weather Festival is a family event with fun educational activities for all ages. There will be lots to see, including helicopters, emergency vehicles, hourly weather balloon launches, and drone demonstrations by our research partners.
The NWF is a fun and free event that will run from 10am to 2pm. Please join us on Saturday, October 14th, for the 2023 National Weather Festival.
If you plan to stay in town, the Norman Parks and Recreation will be hosting the International Festival 2023 in Reave's Park from 4pm to 8pm. This event is not affiliated with the NWF or NWC. For more information about this event, click here!
Please note that this event is going to be under OU’s Clear Bag Policy! You can see our policy on the NWC Policy page. Please adhere to this policy and do not bring large bags unless they are clear. If you have questions about this policy, please contact NWC Security at 405-325-1157.
These two types of bags are the only bags permitted at the festival, per the NWC Visitor Bag Policy. No other types of bags will be permitted.

The parking lots in front of the Radar Innovations Lab, and Partners Place buildings will be open to our volunteers and participants.
Free public parking is available in the Lloyd Noble Center parking lot. Shuttles will be running between the LNC and the NWC; beginning at 9 am, at 15-20 minute intervals, with a break from 12-12:30. The last run will be at 2:20.
Accessible parking will be available in the first row of the NWC parking lot.

The National Weather Fest Shop will be available for all your t-shirt and other goodie needs. Make sure to bring your credit card, as purchases are card-only.
