Before Advising

• Math Assessment
  Transfer students who have taken an appropriate math course are not required to complete a math assessment at OU. If you have taken a math course at another institution, you can check out our transfer equivalencies. If you plan to take a math course at OU, you will need to complete the OU math assessment. When registering for your New Sooner Orientation Day, you will be promted to schedule a math assessment if required:
  • Math Assessment
    If you would like to be placed into a higher math course, you can assess with our ALEKS math assessment. 
    
    You will schedule your assessment through your New Sooner Orientation registration. If you need to reschedule your math assessment, visit iadvise.ou.edu/assess.

• English Assessment
  Please see additional information regarding the possible need to take the English assessment. 

• Reading Assessment
  Please see additional information regarding the possible need to take the reading assessment. 

• Foreign Language Assessment
  Are you interested in studying a foreign language at OU? If so, consider taking a foreign language placement test prior to your Orientation. You can find additional information and sign up for a virtual assessment by completing the Language Study Survey.
  
  You will be able to discuss foreign language courses in more depth during your one-on-one advising appointment during New Sooner Orientation.

Submit all AP/IB/CLEP scores to the University of Oklahoma. Submit all official and complete transcripts from your high school and any college or university you have attended, including concurrent enrollment courses.
