KEYNOTE PRESENTATION
This year's Ethical Tribal Engagement Keynote presentation will feature Comanche Nation Chairman, Forrest Tahdooahnippah, who will present on Comanche Nation’s treaties and treaty rights. Additional discussion topics may include the following: incorporation of Indigenous knowledge structures into Westernized systems, centering tribal needs, legal implications, and cultural considerations around Tribal sovereignty.
This event will be held in conjunction with our Fall 2024 ETE Series Poster Session, “Ethical Engagement Showcase: Tribal Partnerships in Academia”. Both events will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024. The ETE Series poster session will take place immediately after the conclusion of the Keynote Presentation. Forrest Tahdooahnippah is Chairman of the Comanche Tribal Council and Comanche Business Committee. Native American law and tribal sovereignty have been Chairman Tahdooahnippah’s life passion. His priorities in office are strengthening the faith and trust the Comanche Nation has in their government, reforming the Comanche Constitution, and establishing a tribal law charitable foundation for cultural preservation.
Prior to being elected in May 2024, Chairman Tahdooahnippah was an Associate Professor of Law at Mitchell Hamline School of Law where his legal scholarship focused on the intersection between religious freedom and intellectual property. He taught Civil Dispute Resolution, Property, Pretrial Litigation, Advanced Topics in Native American Law, and Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual property. Prior to joining Mitchell Hamline, Chairman Tahdooahnippah was a partner at the international law firm of Dorsey & Whitney LLP, practicing in the area of Native American law. He earned his juris doctor magna cum laude and Order of the Coif in 2010 from the University of Minnesota Law School, and earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors in 2007 from Stanford University.

Parking Information: Parking for the event is available on the west side of Copeland Hall, ensuring convenient access for all attendees. Please note that a parking pass is required to park in the designated area. To obtain a parking pass, you may request one through the link below.
Parking Pass Pick-Up: For added convenience, attendees will have the opportunity to pick up their parking passes during the event check-in process. Our staff will be available to assist you and ensure a swift and hassle-free experience.
