Mellissa joined the MoneyCoach team in June 2022 and currently serves as the MoneyCoach Lead. As a MoneyCoach, Mellissa helps guide students and their families through financial planning, focusing on key elements such as paying for college, budgeting, and credit building. Mellissa aspires to create a supportive environment for students to explore their personal budgetary options.
Mellissa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Central Washington University in 2017 and earned her Master’s degree in Math Education from Walden University in 2021. Mellissa previously worked as a school teacher, most recently in middle school math. Mellissa’s excitement and experience with helping others in personal financial planning has brought her to the MoneyCoach team.
Certified as an NACCC (National Association of Certified Credit Counselors) Financial Health Counselor, Mellissa brings an additional layer of expertise to her role, ensuring students receive comprehensive support in managing their finances.
Mellissa lives in Norman with her husband Justin, son Skye, and their German Shepherd Amara. Outside of work, Mellissa enjoys reading, playing card games with her family, and watching OU sports.
