OU MoneyCoach Events

In addition to one-to-one coaching, the MoneyCoach program offers financial education workshops across the campus.  Some of the topics available are:

  • Money Management
  • Understanding Credit
  • Student Loans
  • Identity Theft/ Fraud
  • Money Skills for Work
  • Car Buying Experience
  • Tips for Financial Health
  • Home Buying and Renting

MoneyCoach Workshops

The MoneyCoaches host three workshops each semester to educate you on financial literacy topics. At each workshop there will gift cards given away and a drawing for a chance to win a $500 scholarship.

For the 2020-2021 academic year, all MoneyCoach events will be held via Zoom. Students must register to attend a MoneyCoach workshop.

Tuesday, September 15th 6-7 pm

Are you prepared for the money jungle?  Join the MoneyCoaches to learn what you should bring on your adventure to money management. 


Tuesday, October 13th 6-7 pm

The FAFSA and CASH windows open up on October 1st.  Join us to learn the benefits of completing the FAFSA and provide directions how to apply for additional OU Scholarships through CASH.


Tuesday, November 17th 6-7 pm

Are you graduating with student loan or consumer debt? Come learn how to tackle your debt to save money and ways to prevent going into debt in the future.

 

 


Tuesday, February 9th 6-7 pm

Sticking to a budget is hard. Learn how marketing, friends, and our emotions affect how we spend money and tips for staying in control of your spending.


Tuesday, March 9th 6-7 pm

Do you want to retire early by the age of 30? Learn the basics of saving for retirement as well as behaviors that you can engage in to retire early.


Tuesday, April 6th 6-7 pm

The game of life is full of so many financial decisions that it can be difficult to know what is most important. Learn what to prioritize when it comes to spending your money between budgeting, saving for retirement, paying off loans, and saving for other long-term goals.
