Financial aid assists students and their families with paying for college. This financial assistance covers educational expenses including tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies and transportation. There are a variety of financial aid tools available to students today, including scholarships, grants, work-study assistance and student loans.
Nearly two-thirds of today's full-time college students receive some form of need-based aid. A student’s need-based financial aid eligibility is based on two factors: the total cost of attendance and the estimated family’s contribution (their ability to pay). To apply for financial aid, families must complete the Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA).
The MoneyCoach program is designed to help students create a plan to pay for college based on their financial needs.
