Faces of America
The motif
of the four Americans set in Mount Rushmore amid the American Flag was
commissioned by writer/director Colin Cox from English artist Lawrence
Curtis a the center piece of the set for Cox’s original play “Faces
of America.” The play, co-created with actor Fran de León, is
a one person show that addresses issues of American identity in the
new millennium. Designed for college audiences, “Faces” has toured to
almost 400 universities since its creation in 1996.
Faces of America appeared on the Call for Presentations brochures for
NCORE 2002 (New Orleans).
