COVID-19 has caused countless disruptions, but for parents and family caregivers, the ever-changing nature of the pandemic has added unique challenges.

Recognizing the impact on members of the OU community, the university has launched OU Connect, a person-to-person job posting website. OU Connect helps students, faculty and staff who need help caring for a family member – such as child care, tutoring or help with adult or elder care – find other students, faculty and staff who can provide this important assistance.

On OU Connect, one person posts their skills and availability, and another person contacts them through the site. After initial contact, the two people manage their service relationship outside OU Connect, like a traditional child sitter or tutor.

The service is open to OU community members on all three campuses. Connections made in OU Connect are between individuals and are not OU employment. Unfortunately, federal regulations do not allow OU international students to work off campus without the advance approval of the International Student Services Office.

Providers Needed

To make OU Connect successful, the community needs your help. If you are a student, faculty or staff member who wants to provide services to other OU individuals, go to connect.ou.edu to create an account for your services. The more providers who are available, the more successful the program will be.

Seeking Services?

OU students, faculty and staff can seek services in addition to providing them. If you are seeking services, you are welcome to visit the site and return often, as new listings will be added as time goes on.

Questions?

If you have any additional questions after visiting OU Connect, please contact Human Resources at ohr@ou.edu.
