The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) policy requires that F-1 international students and their accompanying F-2 dependents purchase and maintain hospital, medical and repatriation insurance.
As an OUHSC student, you must do one of the following:
The Student Health Plan's coverage begins on the first day of classes. If you arrive in the US prior to the first day of classes, it is important to note that you will not have University provided student insurance until that date. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you purchase traveler’s insurance to cover the time between your date of entry and the first day of classes.
Students covered by a qualifying plan other than the university-sponsored plan may choose to waive (decline) the Student Health Plan offered by OUHSC. In this case, students must complete the waiver application each semester of enrollment. For information on waiver eligibility, please visit the OUHSC Student Affiars website.
