How to Apply

Deadline December 15: High school seniors can apply for all University of Oklahoma general freshman scholarships, including the Henderson Scholars Program, through the scholarship application within the online admission application.

The Henderson Scholars Program is open to all admitted first-year students who demonstrate the program's values. HSP embraces diversity in backgrounds, experiences, and passions.

To be eligible, students must meet "2+1" criteria: (1) Minimum GPA, (2) strong Leadership & Community Service essays, plus (3) satisfying one additional program criterion.

Minimum GPA: Maintain a minimum 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Leadership & Community Service Essay: Submit strong Leadership & Community Service essays within the OU Common Application.
Plus One Additional Criterion: Demonstrate at least ONE of these qualities (in your application/essay):
1. Growth Mindset: Embraces challenges and seeks personal, academic, & professional growth.
2. Community Builder: Dedicated to serving and fostering inclusive communities.
3. Perspective Gathering: Understands and values different perspectives, passions, and experiences.
4. Service-Oriented Learner: Loves learning and actively serves others.
5. Purpose-Driven: Committed to causes beyond self-interest.
6. Engaged Scholar: Dedicated to program participation and OU community contribution.
