The University of Oklahoma (OU) is committed to the goal of achieving equal educational opportunity and full educational participation for students with disabilities in OU’s housing program consistent with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended.
An individual with a disability is defined by the ADA as a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, a person who has a history or record of such an impairment or a person who is perceived by others as having such an impairment.
Students seeking accommodation due to a documented medical or psychological condition or a recognized disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act must register with the Accessibility and Disability Resource Center (ADRC). Only those accommodations approved by the ADRC will be considered in the housing assignment process. You can learn more about the ADRC and the registration process on the ADRC website.
Students who feel concerned over their housing assignment for reasons other than medical or psychological conditions or recognized disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act, please email housinginfo@ou.edu.

Appeals Process:
OU recognizes that despite its good faith and reasonable efforts to provide reasonable accommodation, students may ultimately disagree with the assignment made by Housing and Residence Life. If a student is unable to resolve a disagreement by speaking with Housing and Residence Life, they can request a review by OU’s Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs. The Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs will review all written housing accommodation appeals.
In order to file an appeal, a student can send an email to housinginfo@ou.edu.
Consistent with the OU’s Non-Discrimination Policy, any individual who at the time the actions complained of participates in or seeks to participate in OU’s housing program may file a complaint with the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) for review and investigation regarding complaints of discrimination or harassment against OU students, faculty, staff, those third parties utilizing OU services, or third parties on OU premises. For information on how to file a complaint, visit ou.edu/eoo or contact the OIE in Room 102 Evans Hall or by phone at (405) 325-3546.
