Residence Halls

Couch and Walker Centers

First-year students

In Couch and Walker Centers, also referred to as the Towers, residents have a suite-style room. In this style of room, students share a semi-private bathroom with their roommate and suitemates. Residents also share the responsibility of cleaning their own bathroom. All of the furniture is movable and adjustable to allow residents to individualize their spaces in these 12-story towers. In addition to the traditional setting, beds can be bunked or lofted.

Super Suite

The main difference between a super suite and a regular Tower suite is how the rooms are divided. Our super suites hold up to four students per suite and all four students share one bathroom. In a super suite, a wall with an open doorway divides the two bedrooms, and the bathroom can only be accessed through one of the rooms. Our Tower suites have a solid wall dividing the two rooms, and the bathroom can be accessed through each room. By requesting a super suite, you can request up to three roommates; however, in a regular Tower suite you can only request your roommate, and your suitemates will be automatically selected for you.

You must have two mutual roommates to be considered for assignment in a super suite. Super suites are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis depending on your application completion date. Super suites are limited and not guaranteed. Super suites are only located in Couch and Walker Centers.

Many students choose to not bring a car to campus. Everything you need or want is available on or very near to your campus home. Below are some details you should be aware of when bringing a bicycle to campus.

Bicycle Guidelines:

  • Non-folding bicycles are prohibited within the residence halls. Bicycles that can be folded and take up no more than 92 linear inches of space can be stored in a student’s residence hall room. Students are asked to fold and unfold these bicycles outside of the residence halls.
  • Be sure to bring a strong lock and chain for the bike racks.
  • Bicycle racks are available around each housing center for easy access, as well as at multiple locations across campus.

Bicycle Lockers:

  • A limited number of bicycle lockers are available for semester or full-year rental.
  • For your convenience, you may reserve your bike locker prior to your arrival by calling (405) 325-2511. The cost is $55/semester or $100/year.
  • When you reserve a bicycle locker, your key will be available upon your arrival in August.

Bicycle Registration:

  • University policy mandates bicycle registration.
