Russel and Lu Scholarship finalists

Two Students Named Scholarship Finalists

James Lu and Wesley Russell have recently been named finalists for prestigious nationally competitive scholarships. Congratulations, James and Wesley!

A Biology major with a 3.98 GPA, Lu plans to earn an MD upon graduation. He has previously volunteered in various medical settings and is interested in practicing medicine and becoming involved with healthcare policy. The Henry Luce Foundation funds year-long paid internships throughout Asia in an effort to foster cross-cultural understanding, cooperation, and knowledge sharing between the US and Asia.


Wes Russell headshot

Russell is a Social Work and Womens and Gender Studies double major with a perfect 4.00 GPA. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a Masters of Social Work and attend law school before beginning a career focused on LGBTQ+ advocacy. As an undergraduate, Russell serves as an RA and is a Withrow Leadership Scholar. The POINT Foundation's Flagship Scholarship supports LGBTQ students as they pursue undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees in the US.
