The Honors College is not only an intellectual space but also a community of students who engage with each other for a variety of social events and activities. Check out some of these active Honors extracurricular groups and programs to explore the places where you might find new connections!

The Classic Film Club is a program for movie enthusiasts! The club watches a variety of iconic films in many genres and time periods. CFC has screenings every Sunday at 7:00 pm followed by a discussion. The CFC is sponsored by the Honors College but all are welcome. The Classic Film Club is a Registered Student Organization.

The Honors Mentorship Program helps incoming Honors College freshman adjust to university life, learn about activities and network with fellow Honors students. Freshman are matched with Honors College upperclassmen based on majors and/or interests. Mentors meet with their mentees every two weeks and are available to answer questions and provide guidance. In addition, the HMP holds four program-wide events each semester to give mentors and mentees more more opportunities to network. The Honors Mentorship Program is a Registered Student Organization

The Honors Student Association is an organization established for all students at the Honors College. HSA provides fellowship among Honors students and faculty. HSA encourages volunteerism, participates in local service projects, and helps new students to become active members of the Honors College community. HSA provides a forum for academic discussion and information about scholarships. Every OU Honors College student is automatically a member of the HSA. The title of "Active Member" is reserved for students who attend three meetings or events each semester. Active Members may run for leadership positions in the spring. Do you love to read and want to improve your communication skills? The Honors College sponsors a program of Informal Reading Groups. Each semester students and a moderator discuss a selection of the reading from a specially curated book covering a wide range of topics. To participate, the students commit to read the book and to participate in weekly discussion groups. Books are provided at no cost. The IRGs are sponsored by the Honors College but any OU student is welcome to attend.

The Informed Citizens Discussion Group is a student-led organization dedicated to fighting ignorance and promoting intelligent discussion about current events, politics, and world issues. ICDG is comprised of two Honors student volunteer moderators and 10 to 15 participants. The groups meet once a week to discuss local, domestic, and international current events. These meetings are a fun way to stay up to date with important issues and to meet like-minded people. ICDG is sponsored by the Honors College but all are welcome.

Outdoor Adventure is an Honors College backpacking and leadership club. No previous experience is necessary. OA is a great opportunity to meet other Honors College students, to get involved with Honors activities, and to explore the outdoors. Each year OA leads students in day hikes, weekend camping trips, and picnics. OA meets regularly in the spring to practice outdoor skills.
