Drs Yong-Mi Kim, Chie Noyori-Corbett, and Roksana Alavi-Robb along with Professors Kirby Cannon and Jon Kratz were awarded the Health Outreach Award of the Network of the National Library of Medicine, which is a branch of NIH, for their project “Advancing Mental Health Awareness for Afghan Refugee Women Through Mental Health Literacy Workshop.” Their application was supported by the Data Institute for Societal Challenges and the Junior Koenig & Ruth Knee Institute for Transformative Scholarship. Congratulations to this well-blended transdisciplinary team working on very important social issues, both in the State of Oklahoma and the United States.

Dr. Chie Noyori-Corbett, along with Drs. Barker and González, School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, and Dr. Townsen, USAF Air War College, received a Minerva Award from the U.S. DOD for the project, “Temporal Networks of Environmental Refugee Relocation: Security and Socioeconomic Impacts.” This team was one of only seven DOD-University faculty collaboration awardees to engage in fundamental social science research through the FY 2023 Defense Education and Civilian University Research partnership. Their application was supported by the Oklahoma Aerospace and Defense Innovation Institute and the Institute for Community and Society Transformation.
