The Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture offers a variety of student-focused resources, including an annual career fair, academic advisors and liaisons, and numerous student organizations. In addition, the University of Oklahoma provides broader support services such as writing and math tutoring, a campus food pantry, and student advocacy groups. A selection of both college-specific and university-wide resources is outlined below for your convenience.

The American Institute of Architecture Students is the official voice of students studying the profession of architecture and design. In addition to providing work and learning opportunity, we work with the college to better suit the student culture.

The CSA strives to make leadership, scholarship and citizenship a regular part of our members’ lives through industry networking, community service and classwork.
Members of the CSA are encouraged to give back to the local community by volunteering their time with organizations like: Habitat for Humanity, Adopt-A-Street, and the Cleveland County Christmas Store. Students also contribute to the club by volunteering at events like the Skeet Shoot, the Career Fair and the Golf Tournament.
The CSA welcomes not only Construction Science majors but minors, Interior Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Regional & City Planning and graduate students.

The mission of the Interior Design Student Association is to promote excellence in interior design education, and professional practice, as well as foster an appreciation of design and its related disciplines. The organization works to enrich the Norman community in a spirit of collaboration, and bring interior design students together to advance the art of design. The OU Interior Design Student Association incorporates student chapters for the interior design professional organizations of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).

The National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS) mission is to champion diversity within the design professions by promoting the excellence, community engagement, and professional development of its members.

The Student Chapter of American Society of Landscape Architects is a subset of the national organization, American Society of Landscape Architects. The purposes are as follows: (a) To promote professional and intellectual stimulation among the students by services as a vehicle for exploration of ideas outside the formal classroom contents; (b) To facilitate the exchange of information between the faculty, staff and students in the department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Oklahoma (c) To promote good fellowship through sponsorship of social activities; (d) To assist new landscape architecture students and visiting educators through such activities as determined by the executive committee or as the membership may direct.

The purpose of the Student Planning Association is to provide a forum for applied learning and the development of professional planning practice.
Each semester, SPA holds several meetings to exchange ideas and fun events to promote the planning program at the University of Oklahoma. Often SPA participates in volunteer events such as the City of Norman’s tree giveaway and the Big Event.

The purpose of Students for New Urbanism (SNU) at the University of Oklahoma is to foster a multidisciplinary community of students passionate about advocating for and contributing to sustainable, equitable, and livable urban environments. Our organization aims to educate, engage, and empower students from various academic backgrounds in the principles and practices of New Urbanism, including mixed-use development, walkability, environmental sustainability, and community-oriented public spaces.
