A group of OU graduate Landscape Architecture students recently attended the 2023 National American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Conference in Minneapolis. This ASLA conference is the largest gathering of landscape architects and allied professionals in the world, bringing together attendees to learn, celebrate, build relationships and strengthen friendships within the professional community.
University of Oklahoma interior design students attended the ASID Oklahoma Chapter Student Day alongside peers from several state universities. OU students earned recognition in portfolio and design competitions while networking with other students in the field.
The Gibbs College of Architecture hosted its annual Career Fair on Feb. 20, 2020, marking the first combined Design and Construction Career Fair. The event welcomed 75 companies—40 construction firms and 35 design firms—and connected students with professionals across both fields.
OU Gibbs College of Architecture researchers presented the American School approach at the AIA National Conference through an interactive seminar. The session explored design principles and encouraged practitioners to apply these ideas to contemporary challenges in architecture.
Landscape Architecture graduate student Alice Calmon is gaining hands-on experience through an internship with EDSA in Florida. Her work spans multiple project phases while strengthening her technical skills, creativity, and professional development.
Interior design student Ryan McNitt is gaining hands-on experience through a summer internship at a multidisciplinary firm, working on commercial projects and design development. Her coursework and internship have strengthened her skills, emphasizing teamwork, time management, and real-world application of design concepts.
