Construction Science student Piper Petree was selected as Gibbs College’s Outstanding Senior for 2022. Every Fall, the dean of each undergraduate college at OU selects one accomplished student to receive this Award of Merit.
Ben Bigelow, the director of the Division of Construction Science, explained why Piper is well-deserving of this recognition: “Piper just takes care of her business. Whether it is class work, extra-curricular activities, or her job, she takes care of her responsibilities. But what is really outstanding is that she does it without the need for oversight or checking. Everything gets done and it gets done well.”

Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture professor and Institute for Quality Communities Director Dr. Amber N. Wiley’s book, Model Schools in the Model City: Race, Planning, and Education in the Nation’s Capital, has received two major honors from the Urban History Association.
Research initiated by Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture alumna Naila Hasan during her master’s studies at the University of Oklahoma has continued through faculty collaboration and resulted in a peer-reviewed publication in HERD: Health Environments Research & Design Journal.
