John Postic, who earned his Bachelors in Architecture from Gibbs College in 2011, has recently been promoted to Principal of Studio Architecture, an award-winning firm based in Oklahoma City!

After graduating from Gibbs, John moved to Beijing to work for MAD Architects before returning to the United States to pursue his Masters in Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. John has been working at Studio Architecture since 2014, where his roles include business development, meeting with clients, managing construction administration, serving as project manager, and more. Since joining the firm, he has worked on a variety of projects, including downtown master plans, churches, athletic facilities, civic buildings, and more. His first project at the firm was Campbell Corner, a commercial building in downtown Edmond that was designed to extend the urban fabric of the historic downtown to the north.

His more recent projects include the design of a food hall in downtown Oklahoma City, a campus master plan for Langston University, an office building renovation, and a new community activity center in Elk City. John says, “Through my work, I have developed personal relationships with many clients and am proud to be considered their partner. Studio Architecture’s office culture intentionally imitates the collaborative environment of the design studio environment of architecture school. As such, I frequently find myself working with my colleagues, engaging in spontaneous desk crits, and participating in all aspects of the design team – from leading teams to supporting my colleagues’ teams.”

John and his wife Jill currently live in Oklahoma City with their three year old son Hugh and one year old daughter Naomi.

Congratulations to John on his impressive career and recent promotion!
