The Gibbs College Regional + City Planning Department’s second Kuhlman lecture featuring Dr. Joel Mendez of the University of Kansas is now available on YouTube! The talk was cosponsored by the RCPL department, the OU Center for Peace and Development, and the OU Center for Social Justice.
During the lecture, titled “Accessibility and Opportunity for All? An Evaluation of Industry Specific Employment Change in New Transit Service Areas,” Dr. Mendez shared about transit service areas, impacts on employment, and implications for economic and social justice.

Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture professor and Institute for Quality Communities Director Dr. Amber N. Wiley’s book, Model Schools in the Model City: Race, Planning, and Education in the Nation’s Capital, has received two major honors from the Urban History Association.
Research initiated by Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture alumna Naila Hasan during her master’s studies at the University of Oklahoma has continued through faculty collaboration and resulted in a peer-reviewed publication in HERD: Health Environments Research & Design Journal.
