Congratulations to Merriman Anderson Architects for being recognized as the 2019 Preservation Achievement Awards Honoree for their “incredible body of work in the rehabilitation of many of the iconic historic buildings in downtown Dallas,” according to David Preziosi, Executive Director of Preservation Dallas.
Merriman Anderson Architects is founded by President Jerry Merriman, AIA, a graduate of OU’s College of Architecture.
“Our firm is committed to contributing to the resurgence of downtown Dallas and preserving the city’s finest historic buildings,” said Merriman.
“We are proud to be honored by Preservation Dallas for our work and look forward to continuing to preserve the city’s history and culture through architecture and the built environment.”
Preservation Dallas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of the city’s historic buildings, neighborhoods and places. Each year Preservation Dallas hosts an Achievement Awards ceremony to recognize Dallas’ residential and commercial historic preservation projects along with the individuals who are committed to making Dallas a better place to live by promoting its architectural heritage.

During the Spring 2026 semester, students in Interior Design Studio IV and Graduate Studio IV gained hands-on experience in educational facility design through a semester-long partnership with MA+ Architecture.
The Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture congratulates Dr. Tammy McCuen, Robert E. Busch Professor of Construction Science, on beginning her term as president of the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC), an international organization dedicated to advancing construction education through teaching, research and service.
Following years of contributions to the College’s research and strategic initiatives, Gibbs College shares that Associate Dean for Research and External Engagement Angela M. Person, PhD, will step down from her position at Gibbs College as she moves to Tucson with her family, effective June 30, 2026.
