Admissions Requirements

Admission to the Construction Science degree program is competitive. To move into the upper division, students must have completed all courses in the freshman and sophomore years and maintain a 2.5 GPA or better. Seventy students are admitted each fall in to the Junior-level Construction Science Courses.

Admission to the Junior year is based on the following:

  • All classes shown in the Freshman and Sophomore years on the Construction Science degree plan have been successfully completed.
  • A cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 has been maintained.
  • The top seventy students are determined holistically considering GPA (cumulative GPA, major GPA, and OU GPA), extracurricular activities, work experience, and instructor feedback.

All Construction Science students have the option of taking the Associate Constructor Exam in their final year, prior to graduation (the division will pay half of the cost to take the exam).

Construction Science majors who are interested in a minor are encouraged to pursue a General Business Minor. The Construction Science Division also offers a minor in Construction Science.

My degree means so much to me, being a woman in a field where women are so underrepresented makes me value this achievement even more. My degree is one more step towards meeting and empowering women in my field and hopefully inspiring more to follow.
