OU Advocates

"OU Advocates are volunteer staff members at the University of Oklahoma who are trained advocates. We are on-call 24/7 to respond to respond if anyone in our OU community experiences sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, or sexual harassment. We are a free and confidential resource on campus."

OU Institutional Equity and Title IX Office

"The Board of Regents created the Institutional Equity Office on January 24, 2012, to promote and foster the University's commitment to the prohibition of gender discrimination in the educational and employment context. There are two offices within the Institutional Equity Office, each report to the President and Board of Regents. 

The Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Office handles discrimination claims, as well as affirmative action plans. 

The Title IX Office handles claims involving the Sexual Misconduct, Discrimination and Harassment Policy and gender equity issues related to athletics."

OU LGBTQ Alumni Society

"The OU LGBTQ Alumni Society connects the University of Oklahoma’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender alumni to OU and to one another while providing scholarships, internships, and personal and professional development to current LGBTQ students.

The LGBTQ Alumni Society hosts receptions around the country throughout the year. Our signature event is the OU/Texas reception co-hosted by the LGBT Texas Exes Alumni Network. Keep up with their latest events in thier Facebook group."

Oklahomans for Equality

"OkEq seeks equal rights for LGBTQ+ individuals and families through intersectional advocacy, education, programs, alliances, and the operation of the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center.

Serving LGBTQ+ Oklahomans and their allies since 1980, Oklahomans for Equality is home to a diverse, vibrant, and engaged community of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons, knowledgeable staff, and dedicated volunteers."

OU Outlaw

"Outlaw is the LGBTQ+ group within OU's College of Law. OUtlaw hosts lunch and learns regarding legal issues that the queer community faces, partners with main campus groups, as offering ally training for both faculty and students."

OU oSTEM

"Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM), Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit professional society focused on LGBTQ people in the STEM community. With more than 75 student chapters at colleges/universities and professional chapters in cities across the United States and abroad, oSTEM is the largest chapter-based organization focused on LGBTQ people in STEM."

"An educational/support group for non-traditional/grad students and faculty at the University of Oklahoma.  Whether LGBTQ+ or non-binary they recognize teh importance of identity in the shared lived experiences.  Providing a social platform and advocacy resources for the OU community to understand better and embrace multiple idenities.  Everyone is welcome to participate."

"PFLAG Norman is a safe place for people to go for support, education, & advocacy for GLBTQ people and the family & friends that love & support them!"  The support group meeing is the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7pm.

Diversity Family Health

"Patients of Diversity Family Health are provided primary care services in an environment free of discrimination and bias. Our goal is to provide comprehensive care for the gender diverse and LGB+ community focusing on improving your overall health. This is done by focusing on preventative health such as immunizations and screenings for treatable diseases. We provide a number of services that are focused on health concerns specific to the gender diverse and LGB+ people. We also maintain a network of “Family” friendly providers who are skilled in taking care of patients from the diverse community and have practice settings that are inviting and also free of discrimination and bias when referrals are needed for resources beyond the capabilities of Diversity Family Health. Diversity Family Health has partnered with the Diversity Center of Oklahoma to serve as a mental health resource and is co-located with them."
