Letter from Lee

Dear Friends,

To say my colleagues and I are excited for the fall semester to begin is an understatement.  We are looking forward to being in-person at Gaylord College and to feel the incredible student, staff and faculty energy in our building.

Last year brought many changes to our worlds, and my role at Gaylord College has also changed.  On March 1, Development at OU was centralized in the OU Foundation, where Development Officers are now committing 100% of their time to raising money for the university. While I enjoyed – and was proud of – raising money for my alma mater, my passion has become helping our students with scholarships, internships, alumni connections and mentoring. I am happy to tell you that I am staying in Gaylord College and stepping away from fundraising.

My new role as director of Community and Alumni Relations will allow me to continue working with projects like the Dean’s Leadership Class, leading Gaylord’s Scholarship Committee, finding alumni and corporate partners and coordinating our Evening of Celebration. I will continue as an advisor to the Ambassadors and AWSM (Association for Women in Sports Media). With Robert Pritchard’s retirement, I will now be advising PRSSA, Gaylord’s largest and oldest club and a club I was a member of “back in the day.” Our JayMac Alumni Association and recruiting will also remain primary focuses.

I am here for you if you have any questions, needs, etc. We will be rolling out more initiatives in the fall and we always welcome the opportunity to tell you about those. Channel 9 recently did this piece on our Gaylord News in D.C. program. These students are just one example of the talent in Gaylord College.
