Cultivating Character: Summer Institute for Student Flourishing

The Summer Institute for Student Flourishing is a four-day event for secondary teachers in Oklahoma. The Summer Institute is designed to be the first in a series of events for teachers on character education, using the Institute for the Study of Human Flourishing's focal virtues as a framework.

The goal of the Summer Institute is to introduce the participants to the importance of student flourishing in the schools and provide the teachers with practical guidance on how flourishing can be integrated into the everyday culture of the classroom and school.

Teachers will leave the workshop with one completed lesson focused on cultivating student flourishing, ideas for communicating the concepts learned in the Summer Institute with fellow teachers and school leadership, and a network of colleagues to interact with throughout the school year.
