Assessment Gala: Assessing OU Virtues in the Classroom
Facilitated by Dr. Felix Wao
Director of the Office of Academic Assessment
November 11, 12:30 - 2:00 PM
Bizzell Library, Room 339
If you are currently teaching a course and/or plan to teach a course that intends to incorporate one or more of the nine OU virtues, how do you define what you expect your students to know and be able to do (in terms of OU virtues) upon completion of the course? How do you plan to address the virtue(s) you have selected for your course? How will you measure student progress as they learn what you have planned for them relative to the virtue(s)?
This interactive and hands-on workshop will address the above questions by focusing on a number of practical classroom assessment techniques that can be applied to any of the newly-created courses and/or redesigned courses that have been approved to embed or address one or more of the nine OU Virtues. Participants will have the opportunity to review students learning outcomes (SLOs) for their courses, determine appropriate teaching and learning activities intended to address the learning outcomes and, most importantly, develop appropriate assessments strategies to measure student progress during and at the end of the course.
If you would like to participate, but have not received an email invitation, please contact the Institute at email@example.com. Also, please bring a copy of your course syllabus as well as any rubrics you have developed for any of the assessments in your course(s). A light luncheon will be served.
