Director of the Office of Academic Assessment
Dr. Felix Wao is the Director of the Office of Academic Assessment at the University of Oklahoma (OU). In this role, he oversees the development, implementation and review of learning outcomes assessment activities for all degree programs at OU and assists with assessment of general education program/curriculum. Dr. Wao collaborates with faculty in all disciplines to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and promote student success. He is a member of the Provost’s Advisory Committee on General Education (PACGEO), Diversity and Inclusion Academic Council, and Academic Program Review (APR) Committee, and he chairs the Provost’s Advisory Committee on Learning Outcomes Assessment (PACLOA). He is active in and has presented at various national, regional and international assessment and research conferences including American Educational Research Association (AERA), Association for Institutional Research (AIR), Assessment Institute, Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the World Journalism Education Congress (WJEC). His research focuses on strategies for blending assessment processes and analytics to enhance student learning and the overall student success. He is a member of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Peer Review Corps and a Mentor of the Assessment Academy at the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
