Dr. Ryu is an Assistant Professor of Visual Communication in the School of Visual Arts at the University of Oklahoma. He earned his B.F.A. in Advertising from ArtCenter College of Design, his M.F.A. in Design/Visual Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University, and his Ph.D. in Design from the University of Edinburgh. He has authored, peer-reviewed, and presented papers in international journals and conferences. He has led commissioned and funded design consultations for private and public bodies, earning international recognition and awards for his work. His research interests include the development of codesign methods and approaches to address socially "wicked" problems and critical change.
