Sang Ryu, Ph.D.
Sang Ryu is an Assistant Professor of Visual Communication in the School of Visual Arts at the University of Oklahoma. He received his B.F.A. in Advertising from Art Center College of Design, M.F.A. in Design from Virginia Commonwealth University, and Ph.D. in Design from the University of Edinburgh. He previously taught courses in art direction, graphic design, social design, and design fundamentals at Virginia Commonwealth University. He has (co)authored, peer-reviewed, and presented papers in international journals and conferences. He practices in design consultation, leading commissioned and funded projects from across private and public bodies. His research interests include the development of codesign methods and approaches to address socially “wicked” problems and critical change.
