Raju Maharjan
Dr. Raju Maharjan is an Assistant Professor of Visual Communication in the School of Visual Arts at the University of Oklahoma. Before joining OU, he was a President’s Postdoctoral Fellow at Penn State University. He received his PhD from the Technical University of Denmark. His research focuses on human-centered design and the use of technologies to address pressing socio-technical challenges. His past research has focused on design and deployment of health health technologies in various healthcare contexts, including mental health, cardiovascular health, and physical exercise, with the goal of expanding access to care while maintaining usability and engagement. Dr. Maharjan's research has been published in numerous highly-ranked international journals and conferences, including ACM Health, ACM Transactions on Interactive Intelligent Systems, NordiCHI, UbiComp, the ACM Conversational User Interfaces Conference, and IEEE Pervasive Computing. He is currently investigating how generative AI can be applied in different social settings, including education and museums.
