Congratulations to Dr. Christopher Baumgartner on his newly published book!
"Bridging the Gap: Stories for Music Student Teaching Seminar" is a collection of short stories to provoke thought, reflection, and peer interaction on various topics commonly experienced by music student teachers. Inspired by existing research findings and 15 years of experience leading the seminar and supervising music student teachers, each of the 12 short stories are created using Patricia Leavy's method of "social fiction." Published by Conway Publications—"committed to publishing high-quality work in the fields of music and music education while guaranteeing low prices for our readers."
"At long last, our profession has a structuring text for the often-amorphous student teaching seminar...Baumgartner’s creative literary approach to writing makes this book as pleasurable to read as it is useful to practice, and each fictionalized account truly “bridges the gap” between university coursework and the realities of the music classroom. This book is destined to be the standard text for the music student teaching experience."
