As the director for Fitness and Recreation at The University of Oklahoma, Dr. Davenport pursues creating a healthier campus to benefit current students and the future of the State of Oklahoma and nation. Through her leadership, Fitness and Recreation has expanded its campus outreach to students, faculty, and staff through partnerships with academic departments. Further, she is immersed in teaching fitness classes, leading wellness events, and stepping into academic classes to educate about wellness correlations to achievement and methods of progressing in wellness. Amy holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, a Master of Education, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Higher Education, Leadership and Policy Studies. She serves as a member of the university's Conflict of Interest Committee, as the Treasurer for the Alpha of Oklahoma Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, and volunteers her time on the Healthy Living Norman Board of Trustees. Further, she served Pawnee Nation College as a Trustee for four years and currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor for the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education for which she instructs Contemporary Issues in Student Affairs. Dr. Davenport holds experience in addition to campus fitness and recreation in collegiate assessment, Higher Learning Commission accreditation practices, and campus housing and dining
