The Provost's Distinguished First-Year Student Mentoring Program Award recognizes outstanding faculty members for their contributions to students participating in the mentoring program and for promoting mentoring.
Award winners receive a one-time award of $1,500 and a framed certificate.
The Academic Success Center will solicit nominations from participating students at the time the program evaluations are administered.
Students participating in the First-Year Student Mentoring Program can nominate mentors.
Nominations should include a paragraph listing why the student feels the faculty member should be chosen for this honor.
The Associate Provost for the Academic Succss Center will assemble a selection committee to review the recommendations for the award. This committee will determine the final award recipient.
The final selection will be announced at the Norman Campus annual Faculty Awards and Honors ceremony.
